Airport Carbon Accreditation

Isle of Man Airport has achieved Level 1 Airport Carbon Accreditation, an internationally recognised standard for carbon management in the aviation industry. This accreditation represents an important step in the airport’s sustainability journey and its commitment to understanding and reducing its environmental impact.

Airport Carbon Accreditation provides a structured framework for airports to measure, manage and reduce their carbon emissions. Achieving Level 1 demonstrates that the airport has begun formally assessing its carbon footprint and establishing a clear baseline from which future emissions reductions can be measured.

Participation in recognised sustainability programmes such as Airport Carbon Accreditation is increasingly important within the aviation sector and supports the airport’s aim to operate in a responsible and environmentally conscious way.

The work to achieve Level 1 accreditation was supported by Ricardo, an environmental, engineering and energy consultancy with experience in aviation sustainability.

Achieving Level 1 accreditation marks the beginning of a longer-term programme focused on improving environmental performance, reducing emissions and supporting the sustainable future of aviation to and from the Isle of Man.
