Festival of Trees Returns to the Airport - A Creative Celebration Supporting Housing Matter

Published: 14 October 2025

Isle of Man Airport is proud to once again host the Festival of Trees, in partnership with Housing Matters Isle of Man. This festive exhibition will run from 28 November 2025 to 3 January 2026, bringing colour, creativity and community spirit to the terminal throughout the Christmas season.

Now a well-established and much-loved event, the Festival of Trees is seen by thousands of visitors each year. Up to 23 organisations from across the Island are invited to take part by designing and decorating a Christmas tree exhibit based on a theme of their choice. Past entries have showcased remarkable imagination, humour and artistic flair - with the word “tree” interpreted in wonderfully inventive ways.

A Showcase of Island Life

Participation is open to all organisations, and this year’s organisers are keen to welcome entries that reflect the full breadth of Island life including charities, clubs, businesses, schools, and community groups. Prizes will be awarded by public vote and a panel of independent judges, with the aim of celebrating originality and community representation.

The Festival will launch on Friday 28 November with a short ceremony, festive refreshments and Christmas carols. A prize giving event will follow in January, and all participants are warmly invited to attend both occasions.

Support a Worthy Cause

All proceeds from the Festival go to Housing Matters Isle of Man, a local charity supporting individuals and families facing housing insecurity. The entry fee is £100, and sponsorship opportunities are available for charities and not-for-profit groups. Businesses unable to participate directly may choose to sponsor a tree and gain visibility through event publicity.

Supporting the Festival is a meaningful way to promote your organisation while helping raise funds for those who may be facing homelessness, even here on our Island.

Speaking about the event, a spokesperson from Housing Matters said:

We’re so grateful to the Airport for hosting this event once again. It’s a brilliant showcase of our Island community, seen by so many people travelling home for Christmas. It always attracts hundreds of visitors and while it shines a light on local organisations and groups who enter the tree competition, it also helps support our work with those who are facing Christmas without a home.
